Monica Santamaria was born in Bogotá (Colombia) in 1974 and relocated with her family to USA in 1990. Monica's interest for art was awoken in her early college years but it was not until she traveled extensively throughout Western Europe that her creative itch became irresistible. While still attending the university and working full time, Monica began to explore her creative abilities on her own, and developed her technique attending classes and clinics with renowned artists at local museums in Florida and Georgia. Monica is a self taught artist for the most part and has demonstrated during the last decade her commitment and dedication to her art. Monica's work is delightfully refreshing and light. Through her paintings she seeks to stimulate that inner child and provide a fun experience for the viewer. Until recently Monica's work has been sold only to private collections and seldom shown outside a small circle of admirers, family and devoted friends.
